Time Out

Time Out

I am about to start my Spring “time out”. My wife will drop me off at my usual pseudo log cabin in woodland just north of York. Unless I decide walk a mile or so to the nearest bus stop I will be limited to my wooden surroundings. Not that it is a struggle; I will have space, a great view, a hot tub, the all important wifi and usually a troupe of ducklings needing attention.

These “time outs” were one of the handful of changes to my lifestyle I made following a minor breaking-down a few years ago. The others were; employing a P.A, limiting evening appointments, using a daily office for devotions and becoming more interested in my well-being. I will blog about each of these over the coming weeks.

Whilst away I intend to rest, read and write.

I will be resting by enjoying my surroundings,  perhaps wandering the wonderful streets of York and watching Daniel Day-Lewis in “My Left Foot”.

I will be re-visiting three books; “Simply Jesus” by Tom Wright, “God Collar” by Marcus Brigstocke and “The Multi-Site Church Road Trip” by Geoff Surratt.

I will be writing a couple of articles for the local newspaper and also some rudimentary thoughts regarding the next stage of newLife’s development.

I suspect that any blogging will be limited for the next few days, but I am likely to be spotted in the twittersphere.
